  • UKVCAS appointment timing after application submission...!?

    Hello all,

I am preparing to submit my application to the home office online next week by June 28 ideally. But i am leaving the UK on June 30 till mid-august probably.

So i am wondering if they are going to offer me UKVCAS appointment before mid august or will i be able to choose appointments after i am back ?

Or should i just wait till i am back in the UK to do the application ?

    i am in london.

Thank you for advice or pointers !

    Afternoon,

You may want to look here: Submitting and booking your appointment

    ...where you'll see:
When you submit the form and make payment, you are presented with the following screen:

Click image for larger version Name:	CitizenshipSubmission.jpg Views:	1 Size:	65.0 KB ID:	61537

As can be seen above, there's a time limit to download the referee declarations and to book an appointment.

Most applicants are given around 8-9 weeks to book.

As you can see, you have a limited window to have your appointment, and you can't tell what availability will be like until after you have submitted the form and paid, there is no option to book the appointment separately. For that reason, it's probably better to wait till you are back. Otherwise, if you are unable to have your appointment in time, your application may be rejected as invalid.

We have put together the following resources which should be your starting point. Also refer to this post: Issues, mistakes, errors and ommisions

....and, before going further, you should also be aware of the potential impact on family members you may wish to sponsor in the future.

Please note that, if applying with settled status, it may also be necessary to show you were exercising treaty rights for the previous 3 or 5 years, as noted here:
Employment, financial requirements and treaty rights for citizenship - UKCEN Citizenship and Residence for European Nationals and their families

Thank you for all this !! appreciated. I already have the referee docs signed by my two referees ! thanks to your website

So i guess the question is do i want to take the risk that UKVCAS avails for an appointment could be less than 6 weeks after application or more. if its more than i can submit before leaving.

I was just asking in case someone here had a recent experience with timings in london. Just want to get on with it and not lose these 6 weeks !

            Morning,

Unfortunately it's a bit of a lottery with the appointments, and someone may get luck at some point, it doesn't mean it will happen again. Also being restricted by time constraints has often meant people having to pay over the odd$$$. London has the Premium Lounge, where appointment$ are available at around £200 a pop! I'd rather wait till I'm back.

              Hi there

I will follow your advice and submit the application when i am back mid-august. but my referees will be away then. There is no harm in getting them to date and sign the forms this coming week ? it will be weeks away from submitting my application officially.

As the website is only giving you access to these forms AFTER paying/submiting, wouldn't it look weird that i got them dated from earlier ?

                Hello again,

In 5 years, I have yet to see anyone being questioned over the dates on the referee forms.
