  • Forum Reference How to subscribe to, or follow, content

    You can choose how you get notified of any responses to your queries, posts where you have been tagged, or any other activity on the forum. Notifications can be:

    Personal - that means you get notified of anything that involves you, such as:
    • a reply to a topic you started has been posted;
    • you have received a private message (PM); or
    • you have been tagged.
    General - you can choose to be notified about updates that do not involve you personally, this is done through the subscription system. You can choose to subscribe (a.k.a. follow) any topic of your choice, or even a whole area of the forum. You can also unsubscribe at any time.
    If you want to be notified of responses to topics you create or post on, you must enable this option from your profile.
    If you choose not to subscribe, you can just go straight to your posts, these can be found as noted here: How to find your posts - UKCEN Citizenship and Residence for European Nationals and their families .

    I am the Site Manager and Webmaster, please refer to our Admin Team, Roles and Responsibilities. If you think we have helped in any way, please support us so we can keep helping others secure their status, it is now more important than ever now EEA nationals are subject to the same immigration requirements as non EEA nationals and require proof of valid status in the UK.

    The video below shows how to view and check your topics for responses and subscribe to them if you wish. You can also sort posts by date of last update (when last response was posted), date started (when you first posted the topic), etc.

    It also shows how you can go to your profile and unsubscribe at any time.

          Various subscription levels

          It is possible to subscribe at the individual topic level but also at the sub-forum level. You will notice the Subscribe button throughout the forum. If you are viewing a list of topics rather than an individual topic, then the Subscribe button will subscribe you to the whole sub-forum, that means you will be notified whenever a new topic is posted in this area, even if you are not involved in it.

          Click image for larger version Name:	ChannelSub.png Views:	1 Size:	256.6 KB ID:	2417

          This is clearly indicated when you are viewing a sub-forum, after clicking on the above button, it will show as Click image for larger version Name:	Subscribed.png Views:	1 Size:	3.0 KB ID:	2418

          You can unsubscribe by clicking the button again. You can also view your forum level subscriptions from your profile, and they are shown as "Channel", which is the new name for sub-forums. You can also unsubscribe from your profile.
